The European Social Network (ESN) is undertaking a research and practice project to contribute to implementing the European Commission’s Recommendation Investing in Children at national level, as a follow up to the seminar Investing in Children: Early Years Services and Child Protection ESN organised in November 2011 and the publication of the European Recommendation in February 2013.
Between 2013 and 2014, a total of nine countries have been analysed on the basis of a questionnaire submitted by ESN members in each country. The network is now looking for one national expert on children services in each of the following countries: Spain, Poland, UK and Germany.
ESN’s research is focusing on the second pillar of the Recommendation –access to services, whilst drawing links with the other two (access to resources and child participation) in order to assess integrated approaches. The project looks at the organisation of services in different European countries in comparison to the European framework in order to present country profiles and proposals for public authorities to develop services in line with the Recommendation.
Expected tasks include: assess and complete (where necessary) the answers provided by ESN members in their questionnaire, draft the final country profile, draft a two page summary of the country profile and draft a 1 page comparison between the European and the national framework (e.g. gaps identified and suggest proposals for improvement).
The expected remuneration is maximum 1500€ per country (incl. VAT) and all tasks should be completed by the end of November 2014.
Deadline for applications: 17 October.
